Clever storage

This weekend Amelie and I took a drive to a shop that specialised in storage solutions.

Who'd have thought there would be a business in selling only storage related items.  A later walk through the wardrobe department in Ikea convinced me there is indeed a market and it is a popular one!

The reason for our visit was to look at storage containers for my laundry but I'd barely made it through the door when I spied modular wine racks selling for only $30!

I've been wanting to fill an empty void under the timber console in my dining room and knew straight away that the wine racks would be the perfect solution.

Originally I thought they stacked in three rows of four and thought I'd put them to one end of the buffet and fill the other space with baskets or the like.

Imagine my joy when I got home and not only realised you could connect them in one long row, but that one row of three pieces fit perfectly!

  1. Ooh very nice! And it was obviously meant to be for them to fit there so well! Best part is that you can add a second (and third?) layer if needed. :) I'm desperately looking for a buffet & hutch to store all of my kitchen/dining items that are currently stored elsewhere. Sadly my budget can't afford a gorgeous one I saw on the weekend (more like a display cabinet on a buffet than a hutch), so I'm back to square one and working out what we could really afford in our budget! Love love love storage shops - I could spend a fortune!

  2. That looks FAB! I have a console almost IDENTICAL to yours above. And my bottom shelf is full of crap. Mags, baby bag, etc. Wine bottles would look fab, but might have to wait till Edward is a little older. Currently, it's his favourite place to play ;)
