Phew Christmas is over for another year. What a Christmas it was too. This year, for the first time, Amelie understood the concept of Christmas. As the big day neared her excitement was infectious.
The night before Christmas she prepared some some milk and cookies for Santa.
Oops mind the mess
The next morning it was Christmas! In true form I woke at 3.30am bursting with excitement. Alas I was the only one and had to stare at the ceiling until a more respectable hour. By 6.30am Amelie and hubby stirred and it only took a few wipes of the eyes for Amelie to realise it was indeed Christmas and that meant presents!
Once the fun of present opening was over we headed to Amelie's Granny and Pops house for a day of lovely food, drinks and an all mighty storm!
Melbourne turned on the worst storm we've seen in a long time. We watched on helplessly as the cars in the driveway got pummelled by hail storms the size of golf balls (it was just our luck we were in one of the worst hit suburbs). Shortly after we had to retreat from under the patio to inside as the hail storm continued its destruction and punched holes in the pergola roof!
Not that we allowed it to dampen our Christmas spirits.
I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas too.

Wow that is quite the storm! Glad everyone was safe. Merry Christmas lovely xo
ReplyDeleteOh I'm missing so many of her special days. One year I'd love to share a Christmas with her. Can't wait until you can visit me here.
ReplyDeleteOh such beautiful pics Kate, you've captured the magic beautifully :o)
ReplyDeleteAnd you are so lovely to be filled with that Christmas spirit... 3.30am and awake! WOW, I could do with some of that enthusiasm... all I wanted to do was sleep in... but stood no chance of that happening ;o) xo
