  1. Opening all the external doors and windows each morning is a must for me and I love it at the moment when the cool fresh air sweeps through our home.

Also flowers gathered from the garden, a few drops of lime oil on the vacuum cleaner bag and not only the air but my spirits are lifted.

    Happy day Lovely!

  2. Oh Kate Thats good news that they work so well. Having 2 dogs that are inside and outside dogs, I need something like this. I find it hard to keep it smelling fresh and not so doggy.

The way I try to keep the place smelling fresh is to constantly be vacuuming and moping to rid of their hair. I regularly get the carpets cleaned. And open windows and doors when possible.

A good bake up of cookies and muffins gets the place smelling nice also :))))

  3. I always keep my windows open so that there is constantly air flowing through the house. I also make sure that I am always getting rid of mould and dust on the floors and windows and leave a scented oil container in each room.. My favourite fragrance is berry or citrus...it makes my house smell divine! :-)

  4. Would you believe my three year old convinced me to buy a bottle of that Aqua Mist the other day (last time I am letting her watch commercial tv as she was captivated by the ads!) and I am loving it!

So besides that... I LOVE treating myself to a lovely bunch of roses to put in our main living area so I can smell them as I walk past. I also had a gardenia from garden there the other day and that smelt divine!

  5. I take the tops off my nearly used perfumes, leaving one in the hall and one in the lounge room. Not only does it smell beautiful and calming but it also lifts my spirits when I walk into the house. The other thing I do is fill my throw pillows leaves such as lavender. I find it slowly releases it's fragrance.

  6. Open windows and fresh flowers are my must for a fresh smelling house! Love that the warmer weather is finally here and we can leave the windows open.

  7. Hi Kate,
Begun using Airwick this year, a auto puff every 30 minutes keeps the home fresh. Especially when returning and opening the front door to the fragrance.
Have placed a Gardenia under patio and Jasmine along the fence line, very pleasant to sit out there with the first coffee for the day.

  8. Once a month I fill a bucket with warm water and sugar soap and wash my walls. You'd be surprised how grubby they get with kids and pets in the house.

Friends walk into my house and remark how fresh it smells. I'm sure it has got something to do with keeping my walls clean.

  9. I love a smelly house!!

I have aromatherapy oils burning nearly all day - lots of light citrus scents for this time of year - lemon, lime, mandarin

I also have a beautiful Pillow Mist I use of an evening to freshen up our bedroom and fall blissfully asleep

  10. oohh I need to try this product too. As much as I love Chasey, he's a bit smelly after being outside all day!

My tip for keeping the home smelling fresh is to buy beautiful big floral fragranced candles. They look great as decorations and even when not lit they let off a lovely scent.

  11. My top tip would be keeping all the kids and animals and even the husband outside as much as possible. If that's not working then I'm loving the Magnolia and Cherry Blossom Air Wick. :)

  12. my tip is to embrace the outdoors life. have picnics morning, noon and night. sell the kids on the notion of camping in the garden. lock out the cat and the chickens. invest in sunscreen, a BBQ and an outdoors fridge. then sprinkle lavender oil indoors and never let anyone indoors again.

  13. My top tip is to wipe out the bin, cupboards and fridge with some water with a dash of vanilla. Neutralises odours and smells fresh.

  15. Winter I find the hardest time, when you can't open up the house to fresh air and the lovely smell of Jasmine!!
I haven't ever tried an air freshener, do they really work?
I find keeping smelly shoes outside is a great start, and regularly baking yummy things keeps the house smelling nice!

  18. Nothing beats the smell of fresh bread baking in the oven and a pot of freshly brewed vanilla coffee. Open the doors and let the smell fill your senses as it drifts invitingly through the house xx
